Geological Interpretations- Brett Newman

I chose to visit the Sierra Nevada region, which runs down much of the length of the eastern part of California. There is a rich geologic history of Sierra Nevada, which stretches back millions of years.

In order to better understand this region, I used three pieces of information.

First, a map of the Sierra Nevada fault line, which tells the story of the creation of the mountains that cover the region. It also provides an idea of what the future of the region could be.

Second, a map detailing the rivers and lakes that are in the region, which over time has created much of the geological features in the region.

Third, a map showing the different subregions, so I can navigate the region easier.
