Week 5- The Himalaya Mountain Range

So for this weeks travel destination, I chose to visit the Himalayan Mountain Range. As you can see in the picture above the Himalayas Mountain Range has formed as a result of a collision between two pates, the Eurasian Plate and the Indian Plate. Million of years ago, when Pangaea broke apart the Indian Plate began a journey moving North toward the Eurasian plate and after million of year it eventually crashed into the Eurasian Plate. Since both of these plates have the same rock density, neither plate could sub duct the other these two pates began to exert a significant amount of tension and this ending up thrusting the plates in an upward motion cause the range we see today.
