Hello from the future!
I've recently arrived here in Tampa Bay from the year 7010 and bring a dire warning with me: If humans do not change their ways, the Earth will suffer! Ever since the Industrial Revolution around 5000 years ago, we have seen carbon dioxide emissions skyrocket to unprecedented levels. In your future, you will see the sea level rise significantly! Eventually, thermal expansion combined with the melting ice caps will raise the sea levels enough to envelop your coastal cities (including this one!), eventually letting the increasingly acidic sea water erode and wash them away like they never existed. By the year 2100, at the rate you're going, the sea will have risen a total of two meters! This does not seem like much, but believe me, the effects are catastrophic.
This is no coincidence, as we have been able to track the history of natural climate changes in places like ice cored from some of the tallest (and coldest) places on the planet. For years, it has shown a natural pattern which man has interrupted with his influences. Other tracking such as deviation from the mean temperatures over centuries, or the change in ratio in ^16O to ^18O when analyzing Oxygen Isotopes during warming periods have also been warning signs frequently ignored.
So please, do what you can! Help eliminate CO2 and other trace gasses from polluting the atmosphere; consider switching to clean energy alternatives such as solar energy to reduce the combustion of fossil fuels, and for heaven sake, stop burning vegetation! This is just a start of course, there are many other things you can do to help the environment. The sooner, the better though, because it only becomes more difficult as time goes on.
Oh, but humans are fine by the way. We just left the planet and went on to pollute others in our wake.
