Week 8 - Malibu

I asked him how far the dial would go and he said all the way to the year 7010. I figured what the hell let's go for it and said let's go to Malibu.  When we arrived I thought the machine must have screwed up since we were floating in the ocean. At first I thought the machine screwed up but he assured me that we were in the right place.  It was at that moment that I realized just how badly humanity had screwed the pooch.  Where I came from I always heard talk about global warming and how harmful it could be but for the most part no one really seemed to care. Over time legislation started passing
that attempted to counter the effects of global warming and people started buying electric cars and what not to try and mitigate it but it appears that we were too late.  The planet warmed so much that the glaciers melted and raised sea levels substantially to the point that coastal cities like Malibu got submerged. The world as I had known it no longer existed.  I figured that the best way to cope with this sobering revelation would be to find the nearest brewery and see what beer tastes like 5,000 years in the future.
