Week 7 - Death Valley

Devil’s Golf Course - This area is of interest to me because of the salt sediment that was left from the evaporated ocean. This area is truly unique as you can listen to the sounds of the salt crystals expanding. Since this area is raised above the rest of Badwater, it doesn’t get flooded with waters the salt concentration is higher.

Dante’s View - This area is of interest to me because it represents what the valley region is in California. The mountains seen here have been pulled apart by plate movements. It is a great view of the valley from the mountain top. I wonder if the valley would be a good place to create new settlements or if there is risk of further separating.

Ubehebe Crater - This area was of interest to me because of the evidence of an old volcano. How many different types of rock have formed from the lava from these volcanos? Was this volcano similar to what Yellowstone is today?
