Week 5 - Pontic Mountains - Alex Steele

This week I visited the Pontic Mountains in Turkey!
They were formed from the Eurasian and African plates
colliding. Making this a continental crust against continental
crust collision. Present in the area is the North Anatolian Fault.
The faults present are strike-slip faults, implying shear stresses.
The area is one of the most active areas on earth, they see a lot of
earthquakes.
