Week 7

This week I decided to take a closer look at Hell's Gate in Death Valley. After looking at the pictures of Hell's Gate I began to wonder how the topography would appear on a map. Also if the area had volcanic activity at one point. Is the majority of rock in Hell's Gate made of sandstone. Was the land once a fertile area with plant growth? Lastly, was the area home to any native tribes? Knowing information about the rock formations and its topography would be helpful in creating a map of the area.
