Week 2:

I live in the north part of a state called Queretaro in Mexico, every time we drive to my small town, we drive by La Peña de Bernal that is a 1150 ft. high monolith, weighs about 20 million tons and is considered to be 10 million years old. It was a volcano whose interior solidified when it became inactive. Some people, however, claim it was a huge meteor that fell here.
The Peña de Bernal is located in a small town called San Sebastián Bernal in the state of Querétaro, MEX. It is one of the most touristic sites near the capital of Queretaro and considered one of the 13 Wonders of Mexico. This gigantic rock is formed by igneous rock consisting of large grained crystals and contains obsidian and quartz among its minerals, it is thought to have relaxation energy and perception sensitizing properties. Usually, people visit this place because they can climb the rock, can do hiking, and the peak time to visit La Peña is during the spring equinox. Thousands of visitors congregate on March 19 - 21, wear white clothes hoping to be charged with energy.
