This week I have chosen to travel to the Clear Creek located here in the great state of Colorado. The Clear Creek breaks off from the Colorado River and flows its way through the Clear Creek Canyon which goes through the Rocky Mountains and then into Golden and the Denver metro area. Over the last several million years, the Clear Creek has cut a 1,000 foot deep, V shaped gorge that has formed this canyon. This river is indeed at a somewhat high risk of flooding, due to unpredictable rain and snow accumulation in Colorado. The river does meander and curve quite a bit through the mountains as it has literally been carving its path through these colossal mountains for millions of years.
