Week 5 - Converging Plates

Hello from the islands of Aleutian, a volcanic landform nearing the western side of the Alaskan Peninsula. I am here to learn more about the volcanos on the oceanic trench. However, I have found out much more about the specifics of the geological makeup of the islands. For example, the islands are made up of trench slopes and a string of volcanos. The volcanos which formed “where melting of the crust has been caused by the descending plate beneath them” (geologypage.com). These islands are made up of convergent plate boundaries, formed by tectonic plates. Its 45-degree angle plate also make it a thrust fault. Learning the formation of islands makes it all the more interesting.
