I chose to visit Kern County which has the Mojave desert in it. Part of it is located in this county it is the driest desert in America and is here because it is a rain shadow desert. The first information i need is what has been deposited here? The type of rock can determine what activity has been happening whether there may have been a volcano or just sediment here. The next thing would be how did the certain rocks appear here? It would help figure out if a river or something may have ran through here depositing rock. A third would be any plate movement, faults or intrusions that may have happened in the area? This would help with figuring out also type of rock and what the history is behind the rock formations.
