Week 8

It’s year 7010, somehow the human race has avoided destroying ourselves I can’t quite say that for how we’ve treated our home. The rising sea level from glacial melting, some 400 feet of risen water has pretty much devasted the coastal cities. I was forced to leave my home in Key West, Florida along with thousands of others in more cities along the coast. This has caused quite a situation with overcrowding in the center parts of many continents. The influx of people has also caused further issues with humans deteriorating much of the natural world, mountainous areas, deserts, and even heavily forested areas are home to humans. Wildlife and plant life have been affected severely, causing endangerment of some species.
There is some hope though, I believe another ice age is coming up. With this, the sea will refreeze and glaciers with form again and the water level will lower back to its past level. I predict that within the next 3000-5000 years, the earth will be in another ice age. Its hard to tell exactly what will change after that, most likely there will be a decline in human population, changes in the animal kingdom, and most likely the flattening of land from glacial movement.
Until that happened though, I believe the Earth will continue to heat until about 1000 years prior to the ice age. Like I mentioned, the sea level will rise, and likely the atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide will increase as well.
Year 7010 is very different than the past representations of Earth that is shown in our textbooks. Climate and environmental changes are certainly evident, only time will tell what the exact extent of these changes will be, unfortunately some of these changes may be irreversible.
