It is fascinating to see the history of the earth through a slice into the earth formed by nature. Irregular rock columns called "hoodoos" exist in greater number here, in Bryce Canyon than in any other location in the world. When viewing the Bryce Canyon National Park, one can see the layers of history stacked neatly in the hoodoos going back into the late Cretacious period. A term "Laramide orogeny describes the period of mountain formation in North America, and the layers of earth exposed by the erosion that happened over 70 million years show the "insides" of what was once mountains.
The views are stunning and breathtaking, as they are uniques, colorful and powerful images.
