Travel Journal 2
This week my family and I visited Mount Rushmore National Memorial. It was truly an amazing experience. After finally seeing the memorial in person, I am amazed that they were able to create such a gigantic sculpture with limited tools unlike that of today. This memorial is partly made of granite which is why the structure was able to be built as granite is a hard rock and is able to sustain weather changes. My family and I were able to determine that Mount Rushmore is in fact made of granite as it is felsic. It was amazing to see the history and a natural phenomena all in one experience.
