Running Water

Image result for rhine river

This week, I visited the Rhine River in Germany! This river meanders a lot, moving its way across the entire country of Germany, then spanning the border of France and traveling into Switzerland. It's an absolutely beautiful river. It is deep and rough, with huge, crashing currents. Although some parts are calm, many parts of the river show intense, quick-moving water. The Rhine houses the second-largest waterfall in Europe. The bottom is rocky in the deeper areas, but fade down into sandy shores in the more beach-like parts. Because the river is so long and so varied, there are lots of different landscapes spanning it's length, from mountainous curves to sloping sandy beaches.
