Mt Saint Helen

This week, I decided to travel to Mount Saint Helen to visit one of the United States most deadly volcanoes. Mount Saint Helen is located in Washington, about 95 miles south of Seattle. This volcano is located there because it formed between the Juan De Fuca oceanic plate and a North American continental plate in a boundary region known as "The Ring of Fire". Mount Saint Helens is considered a composite volcano and it last erupted in 2008. It's most known for its explosion in 1980, the most destructive eruption in US history. 57 people passed away, hundreds of homes were destroyed, and 185 miles of roads were damaged as a result. This explosion was so deadly and explosive due to the volcanoes extremely high silica content and high concentration of gas. It is very likely that Mt Saint Helens will erupt again as there has been tons of seismic activity in that region over 40 earthquakes since 2018.
