South Table Mountain - Igneous Rocks

It's been a little while, however I pass by the South Table Mountain five days a week while on my way to work. South Table Mountain is a mesa located in Golden, Colorado. Being super close to Denver means that it's an excellent, short day trip towards the west. The color of most of the rocks at South Table is light-brown with a good mixture of both. Rocks found in the area are pretty fine-grained and do not break apart easily. Because of this classification, the rocks were probably spewed out of a volcano and cooled rather quickly, meaning they were extrusive igneous rocks. Bellow I attached a photo by Johnny Muir-Addleman, whom uploaded his picture to hikingproject.com to share the beauty of South Table Mountain.
