In 2015 I went to the Grand Canyon with my family. We went to the Western Rim (the one you think of when you think of the Grand Canyon) which is in Arizona. Unfortunately, I am having difficulty finding my pictures from that trip at this time, so the one  below is borrowed from online.


You can see the tension occurring in the middle of this part of the canyon. This is the part of the Bright Angel Fault, one of the most famous faults in the Grand Canyon. What is unique about this fault is that it gives Geologists an opportunity to observe a fault beneath the Earth's Crust. The faults within the Grand Canyon are older than the canyon itself, and are partly believed to have been impacted by erosion.
