Week 6-Sydney Rodriguez

This week I decided to visit Mount Shasta located in Siskiyou County, California. I would want to study how deadly this volcano is. The first piece of information I would want is what type of plate boundary it is located on. I would want to know this so I could determine how the volcano was formed and if it was created due to collision forcing the denser plate edge to subduct or because of magma continuously moving up from the mantle building new plate material. The next thing I would want to know is the type of rock and have a sample so I can use it to date how long ago the volcano started to form. Finally, I would want to know when past eruptions were and how far the blast radius was. If I had this information I would be able to look for a pattern to see if I could help predict when it might erupt again.
