Week 6 - Geological Interpretations - Michael BluettI

I.K. Nester

The Palmdale road cut is located in San Andreas, California. As you can see, there is a large portion of rock the runs along the highway. Upon further anaylisis of the photo, I see lines that look like something that wind ran across it, but the wind doesn't blow straight down. I believe, that at one point, this piece of rock was laying flat, a lot like the Hogback. This land had wind running across it, which carved these lines in the rock. Due to lift, probably from some kind of movement of the tectonic plates, the land has shifted almost upright.
