Mount Shasta volcano seen from Lassen Peak


Mount Shasta northen California it is home to the second largest volcano of the Cascade Range. Shasta is known for a giant landslide that had removed the entire northern side of the volcano about 360,000 years ago. This mountain was last erupted in 1786 the cone of this mountain was built by pyroxene andesite lava flows.
