My entire life I have lived right next to an amazing mountain region. The Rocky Mountains. Millions of years ago the Rocky's were formed when the Pacific Plate was being pushed under the North American Plate. The compression actually created the Columbia Mountains. Then another mountain building occurred millions of years later with the same actions and formed what we know now as the Rocky Mountains. The rocks that were deposited in this mountain range from sedimentary argillite, and Precambrian metamorphic rock. The structural style is dominated by folding. I would say that the faults would be thrust faults, because the compression and folding that is present in the mountain range.
