Volcanoes - Mount Vesuvius

Around 5 years ago I had traveled with my dad to Italy . We had stopped by the active volcano in the mainland Europe.  It is currently located on Italy’s west coast. It faces the Bay and the City of Naples.  It also sits in the crater of the ancient Somma volcano. It’s most famous eruption dated back to 79 AD. This eruption destroyed the surrounding Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Ash from the volcano caused floods of muddy ask when it rained.  Although it hasn’t had a serious eruption it still is dangerous for surrounding cities , especially Naples.
