Week 6 - Geologic Interpretations

In order to do a geological interpretation of an area such as the San Andreas Fault for example I would want some information before hand. I think that it would be good to have some sort of map or chart that details the locations of the plate tectonic boundaries in the area so that I have a good idea of where faults are located. I also think that having some aerial footage of the terrain would be helpful so that I can conduct a visual assessment of the effects of that fault on the surrounding area. It would also be helpful to know the geological makeup of the area since certain types of rocks handle the stress of earthquakes better than others which helps determine the amount of damage caused by said earthquakes.
