Week 6 - Geological Interpretations

(Imperial County California is in red. Wikipedia, 2018

Imperial County California resides on the south east most corner of the state, bordering Arizona and New Mexico. This area of land also lies within the Colorado Desert. The Colorado Desert is a smaller subsection of the Sonoran Desert and has an elevation lower than 1,000 feet. This tectonic plate boundaries drifts from a rift to a fault (like the San Andreas Fault). The sediment that has been deposited here is from the Colorado River. It is a seismically active area and has a very high geothermal temperature.

Some information that I would like to see about this area are seismic readings. It lays both on a fault line and multiple moving plates, so it would be interesting to see all of the activity going on. I'd also like to see a topographical map so I could see the range of  elevation/heights of the rocks within the desert. Climate data would also be useful to see the humidity and small amounts of rain that occur throughout the year.
