Week 3- Perito Moreno Glacier

Perito Moreno Glacier
This beautiful glacier is found in the southwest of Argentina near the boarder of Chile.
This second image shows some of the erosion that can be caused by the ice. the top right of the photo shows how the moving ice has grated the snow and rock beneath it. The first picture shows where the glacier becomes the zone of wastage. As the ice begins to melt down slope it feeds into the Argentina Lake. The ice wall was formed a long time ago and as temperatures begin to rise it shrinks. Years ago parts of the glacier ruptured and their had been evidence that it was a warmer year due to the fact that the snow lines has been much slower down slope. Snow lines appear much lower when temperatures rise.
